Thumbsucker, can you let me know the night before or at least give me some advance notice of when you are expecting the delivery so that I can work it around client deadlines etc. and sort out when is suitable to pick the stuff up?

Also a PM of your address would be good too.

Can not wait for the next chapter..If I'd known the excitment ironwood created,we would not have let the fires go thru the 100 to 150 ton of ironwood we had a couple of years ago.Weipa uses ironwood for sleepers and the off cuts were just thrown away. The sleeper was 2400 x 200 x 150 and the trees it came out of were about 500 to 600 dia. Most times, could only get one sleeper per log. Dont leave the timber too long as I found out the hard way.Made an outdoor setting for Murluna station and well, the timber was 1 and the chisels 0. Was'nt much left of the chisels.Tried a plane,no use. Most cutting was done with a chain saw as power saws tend to smoke a little.Timber is very heavy, around 1m3 =1.9 ton.Thers a pub up the Cape that had barstools made for the public bar.I'm sure they did that so you could'nt pick them up and throw them.Ps just as a note be aware that this is a poisinous plant and every part of the plant is toxic.Leaves will knock for six young calfes

    G'day Dj,

Thanks for the offer, I'd also arranged to go to Delta Timber, Port Melb, so I could kill two birds with one hit and Thumbsucker isn't far around the corner really.

Waldo just doing sum ruff calculations If you are collecting 11 slabs with the average slab being 300 x 55 x 3000 mm it would come to a minimum of 1.138005 tones can your trailer handle that much weight?

    G'day Dj,

I was just in the throws of sending a PM. The trailer would be handy given the problem I now face. I'll send the PM anyway and let me know which is a better solution.
