    Default Curly Spotted Gum

Salvaged some Spotted Gum heads today, the butts were around 1000mm D.B.H (pics to follow),they are so curly it beggars belief ...is this something that is common in Spotty? There are a few monsters on this property, and similarly, they are covered throughout in curl...never milled this stuff by memory,so looking forward to milling some ...love to hear from those who have milled it,and some pics of any 'curly' stuff ...MM

Things for Chris to remember . . . Recharge the batteries or place new ones in the camera. Also carry a spare set!

Looks like Tiger Stripe on the outside.

Soooo true ,blade will be sharp for this lot..the colour of heartwood is caramel/blonde..with the fiddly should be quite pretty,i'm hoping ..will quarter-saw everything in order to avoid checking,as Spotty apparently will move on the back-sawn grain..may mill some up tomorrow, if time permits..MM

nice figgure in that spotty. would probably look good with a epoxy or feastwatson glass finnish. note i have not used these 2 products before so i do not know if it will look good on spotty but on some other timbers at the WWWS at sydney it looked good on the display timbers.

Why am I not surprised that Super Diviner has been able to come up with this?
