Default cut up some local gum tree (SE Melb) please help ID

Saw a fallen branch from a huge gum tree in my neighborhood and cut/milled some of it. This is in SE Melb and the tree is huge so I presume its old growth?

    Leaves, gum nuts and flowers:

I took pics of the drying leaves from the fallen branch and also ones from the tree

    Bark:

    Timber/grain:

Any idea what type of tree this is?

Also, any know how long it will take to dry? it is 35mm thick, 110mm wide and about 280mm long.

Also, the log with the rot - is that one also worth milling? Does the rot just flake out when its dry?

I would hazard a guess at Lemon Scented Gum - but I could be wrong.

From my research lemon scented gum and spotted gum have much smoother bark.

I have posted it elsewhere and some have suggested sugar gum at a guess.
