G'day jsherman86,
You may not find a lot around here. Marshall's at Cardiff have a bit, but they're not very good to deal with. I've picked up a few nice bits from Hudson's at Glendale, but as for some of the more exotic species you'll probably have to go elsewhere.
Claw Hama (Mark) gets his from some guy up Port Macquarie way that makes deliveries to Newcastle. You could ask Mark for that guy's details.
The Hunter Woodturner's sell some stuff, so you could contact them as well.
Otherwise, the ute may be the way to go.

I think I may have given you a bum steer.
I just went to Hudson's to buy some spotted gum for a table and this time found they had very little suitable timber. Unless you want blackbutt timber or T&G flooring of various species they don't really have much.
I'll have to find another place to shop as well.

Thanks Ray, yeah I'm pretty sure Mal from Boutique Timbers<!-- google_ad_section_end --> is the guy I was talking about that Claw Hama uses.
