decorative rifle timbers T&FT customer
I used to buy offcuts from teak and fancy timbers for the wooden components of the aluminium competition rifle stocks I build, however I lost contact when he closed , I purchased some indonesian or PNG decorative redish to dark timber from him I cannot remember what it was but by far the most suitable for my purposes, I am seeking to find out 1: if i can contact him or anyone with expertise in the goldcoast area ,to tell me what it is, (I have samples) 2 where I can get it #:3 other fancy attractive medium to hard density offcuts I can source, the largest piece I use ends up 50x50 x 250 long and a block or 120 x 50 x 100 or longer, I prefer the timber seasoned , I am trying some Mango as a backup plan , however I am a metal worker and timber isnt my forte, would like some mulberry also, note most rifles timbers need structural integrity , this is not the case with me as I use metal in the spine and timber to add feel and attractive looks, they are only decorative components,,,, Dan @Labrador 0411101529

Would need to see some pics of the wood to be of assistance, And would like to see some picks of the finished products too they sound mighty interesting.
I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.
Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

How much are you after, is it a once in while, or on a regular basis?
I have heaps of timbers that would be perfect for rifle stocks, and could sort you out for a couple, but I am not a timber merchant and don't want to take business away from those who are.
If you want a regular supllier, I might at least be able to help you work out what you have, then work out where you might get some or some alternatives. I'm not far from you and you are welcome to come around and have a look and a coffee
PM me for details or check out my profile.
