    Hi guys,

Sorry I've not been around lately, but been working on my car for a change. Also I've been dealing with the results of the strong winds we've been enduring over the past few weeks.

This brings me to the reason for my thread title. I've finally sliced up one of the big branches that was downed by the wind, and rather than just chop it up for next year's firewood, I thought I'd offer it to anyone wanting some nice pieces of gum tree for their storage. I will even offer the use of my bandsaw to slice it up so you don't have to lug home bloody great chunks of wood in your car.
The pieces are of varying sizes, but if I can manage to take a pic or two tomorrow, it'll give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. Some bits had to be lifted with my tractor!
So anyone wanting to avail themselves of some nice green gum to play with just let me know and it's yours.

    Cheers,
    Bob

Would you have any small forks from it as a friend of mine is looking for some to practice carving into a rooster. He is looking for stuff about 20-35mm in diameter with about 30mm below the fork and 40mm above the fork if this is to fiddely you could just cut them larger than the size I would like then I can trim them down to size if you like . If you do have some could you pm me with how many you have and what it would cost to be delivered to sydney.
    Thanks Wood Collector

    Hi WC,
Do you prefer green or aged wood? I could probably find both if I really had a good enough search around the property.
I have absolutely no idea about postage costs, but I'm sure we could work something out as I still have my home in Gymea.

    Cheers,
    Bob

probably green but a few aged ones would not hurt. if you pm me your details i would work out postage from your place to mine for a 1.5kg box more or less? but if it is to hard to find that much a couple of bits of the smaller staightish branches would be okay.
