Furniture Borers
Hi all, I'm new here so really don't have much idea of what I'm doing. I'm hoping some-one can help with the issue of pin hole borers in antique furniture. I've been gifted a beautiful antique side board, however I've noted that it seems to have what I believe would be pin hole borers in a section of it. I've vacuumed those areas, but new dust has appeared within days. I've been to Bunnings to ask for a product to either spray or paint on the inside surfaces, but have not received what I'd regard as helpful advice. Any ideas or tried and true methods?

Hi Cejay
I am not an expert on borers but I would try to post a picture of the insect and holes so those that can help have more detail.
To get a picture of the insect watch for the, flying during daylight hours and give them a shower with your preferred fly spay

Is there dust? If so, is it smooth or gritty when rubbed between finger and thumb? If smooth Lyctus. If course or gritty Furniture beetle or similar. If there is no dust evident they are probably long gone.
