    Hey Everyone, Just would like to know if I can use timber from a gum tree and if it would be any good any good?

    Yes, use timber gum tree good.

    welcome to the forum johno. and yes almost any gum tree is useable. it'd be helpful if you know the type and even a photo of it will help everyone here help you in deciding if it's useable

    there are infact quite a few gums that are all but useless.

    I am actually wanting to use it for turning mostly. I am still trying to find out what species it is.

    Johno, take a pic of it someone here can tell ya what it is. As said above gums are good (mostly) I have a saying there is no such thing as bad timber, just bad places people want to put it. Something like scribbly gum is very 'limited' in its use, but something like grey gum has heaps of possible uses.
