Hardwood shingles
Hi there,
I'm finding it very hard to find a manufacturer/supplier of hardwood shingles for a roofing job in Sydney. I'm specifically after ironbark/casuarina shingles, and only need to cover around 20sqm.
Any suggestions ideas?
Regards,
Tallen

Hi, there is a contractor replacing the Sheoak roof tiles on an Historic cottage building in the Australind (WA) shopping centre precinct .
I'll try and find out the contractors name however whether he can help or put you in the frame for someone he might know in the Sydney district would remain to be seen.
CheersJohnno

The contractors name in Australind will be more than likely Vic Burt or his dad, they do alot of restoration work of that nature. They get their sheoak shingles from Whiteland Milling down here in Busselton who do also send them over to the east coast but to where I dont know.

Have a heritage roofing mate who's father was a slate/shingle roofer and they had a workshop shed down at redfern railway that housed a hydraulic shingle/shake cutter and I think they did them in sheoak.
I'll try and track him down and see if he still does them as I remember him saying either few firms (or none except them) produced them in Sydney.
Cheers,
Garth

Thank you all!
Thank you all for your very, very helpful feedback. I've gone from dispair that ~anyone~ made these anymore to a number of positive leads. I'll keep you posted if any of these work out, and of course if you get any more ideas keep them coming
Awesome!
