Default Help identifying hardwood timber slabs please

I have two slabs of timber that I'd like to identify, please. It was originally one piece but was cut to size. Unfortunately the project never got off the ground and then I had to move... it was long enough ago that I can't remember what species it was, I just remember it cost about $275 in total and it was seasoned hardwood. It weighs a ton! Thanks for any help....

Since you are from Sydney and its very heavy I'd say Bluegum. That's assuming it is a red/brown slab but one of those photos makes it look yellow/brown rather than red/brown and hoping it is just the photo.

    Hi Dai Sensai,

Thank you for your help... my memory keeps coming up with Blackbutt but my memory can't really be relied on. I think the wood does tend towards red/brown rather than yellow/brown, but it's mainly just grey at the moment! It needs sanding )

    Cheers,

    Hi dusteater,

Thank you for your thoughts, but I'm afraid that doesn't ring a bell at all... my dodgy memory had me thinking it might be Blackbutt (not knowing what that looks like of course!).

    Cheers,
    K.
