Help sourcing dry timber posts
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help. I need dry/seasoned timber posts that I am going to be using for endgrain flooring. I want 150 x 150, 200 x 200 or 250 x 250. The species is not very important as I'm hoping for some variation in colour. Depending on the size, I'll be needing between 42 and 107 linear metres worth. I've been in contact with a few suppliers and I think they are taking the . The rates they give me jump by about 4 times as soon as I tell them what I plan to use it for. Does anyone here have suggestion of who might be able to supply?

Second hand would probably be the cheapest option. Think electricity and telegraph poles.

Might be because they assume you'll want the posts to be defect/crack free and I can't imagine such large sections being defect free is common, especially dry. Expect to pay $100+ per meter
As others have said, try the salvage yards for ex-wharf timbers and power poles and buy yourself a good metal detector.
