Default Identify Timber purchased for Carving

I purchased this timber at least 15 years ago for the purpose of carving a rocking horse (it was recommended at the time as being a suitable wood by Otto Timber in Adelaide). However I have lost any paper work and cannot remember (I blame that on age!) what the timber is .... all I can remember/know is (1) It was expensive, (2) The wood is light (3)I think it was an imported timber. I have attached some pictures .... any help would be appreciated

Klinki Pine looks just like that and is super-light - dents very easily too. There another timber that looks similar that starts with 'J' but the rest escapes me at the moment - it will come to me any day now . . . . . . . .

Queensland White Beech (Gmelina leichardtii) is known for being a world class carving wood, and has similar coloring, but I can't really say one way or another about whether that's it or not in the photo.

    Good luck,
