    Default Can anyone identify this tree??

    Large tree in the Watagans area.... From what I can tell - is it a blackbutt?? I couldn't get a great image of any foliage, too high, but have attached what I got.... Thanks for any help.

    Looks like either blackbutt or sydney pepermint. if you crush the dried leaves it will help you in id'ing the tree. what do the seeds at the base of the tree look like?

    I didn't examine the seeds - I assume you mean what should be laying on the ground?? We'll be back in the next month or so, I'll try out what you've suggested - thanks. From what I've read, the size of it would suggest blackbutt wouldn't it?
