jarrah slab
HI,
I am new to this forum and have very little knowledge about timber. Could you advice the price for jarrah timber slab for the size of 2000mm(L)x750mm(W)x50mm thick? i live in melbourne and not sure if it is expensive to pay $600 for the slab ? Kindly advice. Thanks and Regards. choonLast edited by dai sensei; 22nd March 2012 at 05:05 PM.

Drive over here
At the Forest Products Division auction at Harvey on the 10th you'll pay about $200 for it green ... then put it aside for a year or so.

Why don't you check the price of 4 lenghts of 200mm x 50mm Jarrah from your local timber supplier. I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper.

Quote for Jarrah Table Top 2000x750x50
Hi, My wife, (Suzanne) and I (Rod) have significant Jarrah stock in Gembrook, and can help you with a slab of the size you want 2000x750x50. Please see our temporary web-site Gembrook Jarrah for more sizes etc.
I would expect the price to be $500-$600 (as this is not unreasonable given the rarity and beauty of Jarrah.) Please contact Suzanne on 0427 299 368 or email on [email protected]

We sold some slabs about 4 years ago for between $450 and $650. 1100 x 50 x 2100
One went to a boat fitter who does luxo yacht trim he thought the $600 he paid was a good price. If they had been plain straight grained jarrah Id expect we would have got half that. But they are loaded with fist sized clumps of burl, chocolate stripes and pencil point.
So the feature can have a big impact on the price.
By the way we still have 2 left"Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem"
