Default Wanted - KD ironbark or silvertop ash for Verandah and Fascia. Gippsland

Howdy, hope this is in the right place.

We're in the process of building our home with a BAL rating of 29. This means that all exposed timber must be bush fire resistant.

    We need some 200 x 45mm verandah beams up to 4.8 metres. Also fascia 190 x 35mm.

Can anyone advise of somewhere in Gipplsand (preferably) or failing that anywhere in Victoria that sells this sort of stuff.

More details can be provided if necessary.

Looking at around 20 linear metres of the 200 x 45mm and 65 linear metres of the fascia

    Thanks
    Rickey

    Hi Rickey,
I believe Mathews Timber in Vermont have some Ironbark in large sizes at present. You could try them. If you call them, see if you can get the Yardsman, Ian on the phone, otherwise ask for Mick Mash, he's one of the Honchos and will tell you what they have in stock

    Regards,

    Rob

Should be able to get you some rough sawn silver top for your beams from the sawmill at Millgrove that I usually do cartage for but it won't be KD.

Powelltown sawmill will probably have what you want, I do have to head out there one day this week, as the owner wants to see me about some cartage work and I could ask for you.
    Cheers

That would be great if you could DJ. Our architect is from Warburton so we have been up that way a few times. It does need to be KD though.

Sorry Rick, things have been crazy here and haven't had a chance to get out there yet.

Give them a call or email yourself, might be a week or two till I get a chance.

    Hi Rickey,
Were you still after this timber?
We are able to get both these sizes in F27 seasoned Ironbark or Silvertop Ash.
We are located in Mordialloc, but can offer delivery out to gippsland.
    Kind Regards,
    Nick

Hi Nick, yes definitely still after this timber.

Can you give me a price per linear metre for both the 200x45 Ironbark and also the 190x35 Silvertop. Send me a message if you prefer not to publish prices here.

You say the timber is seasoned. I'm actually after KD timber that is DAR. Is that what you have available or is it rough sawn, air dried? (It may still be OK but I will need to factor in dressing the timber if necessary)

Thanks for making contact and look forward to hearing from you.

    Rickey
