Need to match cladding/weatherboards
Hi Fello woodies,
I need to find or have machined up some KDHW weatherboards/cladding/champher boards the same profile as what i have on the gable ends of my home (built 1977) the plan is to remove two windows and board it up the same as the gable ends. i live in Portland victoria but i would be happy to send a sample board anywhere & have it all freighted back to me if thats what needs to be done,it is driving me crazy not being able to find the right boards.I supose it would be even ok if the where machined from finger jointed pine ?? as they will be painted anyhow.
I will need about 30 boards @ 2m each will this be exspensive ?
Any help would be greatly accepted ,I'm sure there has been many with my very same problem.
Oh & yes the new boards will be running into the old ones thats why i need the exactly the same
Thanks Diyguy

The first thing I would suggest is to post a picture of the profile you need cut. However I suspect you will have to take this job to a specialized machining service as the sort of equipment to do this is unlikely to be found in the average WWF members shed.

Have you done the rounds of the recyclers and demolition yards? You can be lucky. Just take your pattern along to match up. If you can find out the builder that constructed the home you may be able to trace the cladding supplier that way, but's its a long shot.

Any workshop with a spindle should be able to help you out unless they just can't be bothered. The first metre is the expensive one after that it is pretty reasonable. I could do it for you but I am further away than BobL.
