    Default Newby - cost recycled jarrah?

    Found some Recycled Jarrah seasoned boards 140-160mm x50mm x3-3.5m on gumtree (perth) looks milled s4s and std/better -any idea of what is fair price lm? Even in general any good sources of info on pricing recycled jarrah that I could use in future as really have no clue[emoji15]

    It varies a lot. The older it is, or if it was recovered from a significant site can add to the price for brag factor.
    Denailing and planing or resawing adds to the labour cost so it can be a little extra too.
    If you have the machinery, and patience, you can pickup plenty of free jarrah, but need to spend time cleaning it up.
    A metal detecting wand is worth investing in, even if they seller had cleaned up the boards, as hidden nails can add to your cost later if you hit one with the saw.

    I actually do have all the equipment you mention to mill up old boards but have been looking for something in the realm of 3mx250-300mm wide and 50mm thick (probably 70mm so am left with at least 50mm after cleaning up/flattening the surface on the thicknesser and jointer). I need them to make a stair tred that is only supported on either end and 3m long, hence the thickness. If you know of anywhere I could find this in Perth that would be much appreciated advice.
