Last time I checked, more than 10 years ago, Otto in Adelaide was selling small pieces at $30,000 a cube... does this answer your question?
When I had to cut down two in my backyard, I kept all the timber and I am slowly using it now after 25 years.

anyone know how Native Olive compares to the European import?
The old place next door (which btw we used to live in until the new owner bought it- we moved house about a total to 15 meters) is going to be demolished soon, and there is little a tree that will definately get cut down.
There used to be three more, but by the time i got home they had already gone through the mulcher.
Don't want to miss out next time.

The above ground timber is all well & fine.
The challenge is to get the bole out of the ground, now THAT is worth real dollars.
I have a small piece of Olive Bole that was given to me years ago. It came from a tree that was 125 years old when cut down to make way for a swimming pool. A mate had the job of removing the tree & the bole. When the bole came out of the ground it was almost 3.2mts across.
I dunno how they found out but it wasn't more than 3 weeks after removing the bole that Rolls Royce, England, contacted my mate & bought the bole sight unseen for a LOT of money.
Here is a picture of a marking gauge I made out of the bole timber.
