Oregon beams- what can I use them for?
I have a whole lot of 140x40ish and 200x60ish beams from my house that we took out. They were too good to chuck into the skip so I have kept them.
But I have no idea what to do with them! We need some outdoor furniture but I don't think it would work very well in the elements, would it? I don't like painting over timber so I would stain/ oil/ varnish it to keep it looking like raw timber.
Can anyone suggest some things I could do with it please? We have coffee tables, bedside tables, a large dining table etc. already.

What about a workbench? They are many who prefer a softwood top.

Hmmm, I am the opposite of religious so I don't know if I could handle church furniture in the house. I have a workbench top at the moment... however it's only MDF laminate so I could replace that! That would use up a fair bit too.

Nothing wrong using oregon for outdoor furniture.
Just make sure you use a good decking oil and keep up the maintenance on it.
Made one for a friend about thiry years ago and it's only because in the last couple of years he didn't keep up the maintenance.
It started to look a bit shabby but a good sand (had to replace one part of the top) and more decking oil it looks fantastic.
If you are going to use it for outdoor furniture remember to round all edges. (splinters)

Hi 10 ... is that "ten" or "two"? (*)
You can see a see a floundering and wildly wandering partially completed mess of a build at the link below that is all Oregon (so far).
It is old timber and sitting perfectly happily outside under a light cover. If you go back to the first post you can see what the unloved outdoor treatment does for it too.
