Smile Pine trees for timber on my property

    Hi All,
I am new to this forum so I apologise if this is posted in the wrong section. I have a row of 39 very tall ( approx 40-50 METRES) pine trees. I would like them removed and thought they must be worth something to someone for the timber. They have a girth of approx 40-70 cms.
They are near Trentham in Victoria.
Should I expect to pay a lot of money for their removal, or would there be any likley hood that they would be removed and the logging contractor keeps the timber as payment ?
What do you sugguest or reccomened ?

    Thanks In advance.

    Hi there,

Not sure if it's of any help, but if you had them felled I would be interested in purchasing the logs and milling them up for timber.

Might be worth posting a picture if you have one. Generally if the trees are only in a row 1 deep they don't have good quality timber as there are so many limbs + knots. Having said that I have milled many trees that look pretty ordinary and they end up having lots of great timber.

Feel free to call me on 0430 111 431 if you want.

Thats a long drive for some cruddy old pine!!! even more so if you want to pay for the privilege, if you want them removed PM me and I will put you on to someone in rocklyn who might be interested in them.

And yes it will probably cost a bit to have them removed as most people will hire an excavator push them over and burn them or send them to landfill. Send me a PM and I will be possibly be able to help you out.
I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.

Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.
