Thread: Rock Maple cubic metre price?

Anagote timbers advertise between $14-$21 a superfoot. I'm not too sure how to get a cubic price from a superfoot but i'm sure it can be done.

1 cube is roughly 431 super

Guys -you all must stop using super feet as a measurement/volume term ,we are using the metric system now(for about 40 or so years).Its either lineal meter or cubic meter pricing.
We dont sell anything in shillings and pence so get with the times,too many forum viewers I've observed are confused

My comments on this old topic:

The use of super feet is partly an age thing, but it is still also conceptionally functional as a term as it is volume related.

'Inch boards' is a generic term that is commonly used for boards thicknesses, wheras 19mm, 40mm and 50mm are more common terms for other thicknesses.. strange but true in the specialty timber field, perhaps not so with bulk wholesalers of pine and Tas oak.

Super feet provides an area measurement, wheras 'metres' provide lenghts and need to be associated with a width when discussed

In the UK, inches and feet are still used and there are a lot of UK members......

Most people don't purchase cubic metre quantities, however I agree it is most commonly used in price quotations for bulk purchases.

Like living in a world with blondes and brunettes, you just have to accept there is more than one one way of getting into trouble.

Have to buy in metric but too old to change thinking from imperial. Thinking in 1000s of little things is too difficult. Grew up with super feet.

Sorry about the late post. Try Yates Wood Products in Ingleburn 02 9618 3499, they're usually cheaper than the inner city suppliers and they list Rock Maple by the cube.
Regarding super feet verses metric. I work in metric in all other areas, but when working with a mixtures of small sizes of timber, I find super feet to be much more convenient than very small fractions of cubic metres or linear metres.
