Default rough sawn 'tassie oak' available in geelong area

    Hi,

I have a long bed 6" JET delux jointer and a 15" thicknesser but I am still buying DAR from bunnings because I am not sure where to get rough sawn tassie oak. I can't afford to buy anything more exotic.

Can anyone suggest places - preferably open saturdays

Would also be preferable if they don't treat hobbiest like s**t and are reasonably priced at will sell in lengths that fit into a small station wagon.

    Thanks
    Jason

    Default Try Belmont Timber

    Hi Jason

Most Tassie Oak is supplied DAR or at least skip dressed as it's very hard to grade rough sawn. The options are either F17 a structural grade with 'features' or select grade.

Belmont Timbers would be without doubt the best timber yard in Australia and have a wide range of sizes. Provided you know what you want and don't want to be served ahead of the guy buying a truckload they'll look after you.

    Belmont Timber - Timber

    I hope that this helps.

    Regards

    Grahame
