Solid Gidgee Furniture
Hi Folks,
As I am a big fan of extremely dense woods, I was amazed to see someone building furniture pieces out of solid Gidgee. Have any of you seen this guy's work? Some of his pieces are pretty impressive. Do you know of other folks who build furniture out of solid Gidgee? I wonder how dimensionally stable these pieces are after five years.

Any thoughts??

Gidgee is very stable in my (very limited) experience. HNT Gordon uses it for plane bodies, so he must think it's ok. I would imagine all the usual rules apply - straight grain & free of reaction-wood for best stability.
That buffet looks quite spectacular - it would need a bit of space or it would dominate any room.
My main thought is "Wouldn't like to have to move it!"

FURNITUReMART: Rose Hannah
Here is another maker you might like to check out. I had quite a bit to do with them when I lived in W.A. originally working in the timber trade and then when I did my saw doc's cert I used to do a lot of their sharpening. They make some REALLY nice stuff and quite a lot of it is from recycled timber, a lot of which is over 100 years old or more.
