    Default slab movement, ripping advice

thanks for this forums wealth of knowlege.

i have purchased a river oak slab (cunninhamia) with the puropse of ripping it in half (lengthways) and making a table. it is about 60-70mm thick, 550 wide. i understand river oak moves a bit in drying. it is showing a bit of cupping, not too severe. it is abouty 2years old, so id imagine its done most of its drying, BUTTTTT, it came from oberon, much wetter than hot ass dubbo.

    so,

    my question is:
rip now, before it dries more, or rip in 6months. i am realistic about more movement and checking, but i dont want to rip it and 2 weeks later have 2 bananas.

    advice?

I'm no expert but I think the more ends you have the more
checking you will have. Also, try tipping the slab over it
    may reverse the cupping.
