What are these slabs?

I'll probably play safe and just call it Silky Oak.

The native range of Northern Silky is as far south as the Paluma range in Queensland.... about 50km north of Townsville. Which is not to say it wouldn't grow elsewhere if someone planted it.

When I was a kid, and we were sitting around the dining table - if I asked what a particular food was that I hadn't seen before - hmy Grandfather's reply was always "You wouldn't like that. It's not very nice." And he'd proceed to eat it..... It took me a few years (I was only five or so when this started) to work out that prawns, scallops, figs, bananas, and lots of other things were actually good - much better to taste and see for yourself than to let him pinch them.

So - in relation to your slabs ..... "They're not very good. I don't think you'd like them. How about you drop them off on my driveway and I'll look after them for you....."
