    Default Stabilising wood in Perth?

Looking to make a nice knife handle for a Damascus steel blade that I bought online and I've got some really nice wood at home- everything I've read about knife making (this is my first foray) suggests either buying stabilised wood (which I don't really wanna do) or having it stabilised commercially. Is there anywhere in Perth that offers this service?

For anyone unaware, the stabilising process (from what I understand) involves soaking wood in resin under vacuum so that any air in the wood is replaced with hard resin- which stops the wood from swelling, etc.

I do stabilising but I am on the other side of Aus.

Ian is in Perth and does stabilising and makes heaps of scales but not on here much these days. Best bet is to send him a message on Facebook here ‪#‎aussiekustomknifescales‬ and see what he can do for you.

There is also a guy in Perth that sells stabilised scales on Ebay, but not sure if he does stabilising of other people's timber

Have you got a link? New members appear to have limits on their search ability
