timber needed
hi all
i am planning on building a cubby for my tikes, but it looks like the cost of timber (8ft 2x4's etc) would be close to the cost of buying a ready built one.
does anybody have any good alternatives to bunnings?
i had 2 ideas
1 - treated pine sleepers ripped down to size (not sure if these would warp too much though)
2 - some kind of reclaimed wood centre.....
i live in the eastern region of melbourne (lilydale ish)
appreciate any ideas/contacts

Laminated concrete boxing material may be an option. Cheap and cheerful. 100 x 36 $36 for a 6m length. Just the shot for stuff that doesn't need to last forever. Paint it well, it lasts well.

Check out your local gumtree or similar. People are usually offering old timber fences up for free. I got one and there is lots of useable wood.
