Planing Timber
Hi,
I am after tips/advice about finishing rough saw timber on a planer/thicknesser. The instructions I got with the machine are quite simple with very little detail. The only usefull info was to keep your hands clear of the blade.
Thanks,
Glen

I guess you need to get the timber as flat as possible (at least on one side) first and then make multiple passes through the planer/thicknesser cutting off a millimeter or two at a time.
Do you have a bandsaw or jointer at all?

You could download the Jet Manuals for their Jointer (http://www.jettools.com/JETGeneral/M...als/JJ-8CS.pdf) and Thicknesser (http://www.jettools.com/JETGeneral/M...s/JWP-12DX.pdf) which have way better instructions.
