What Timber is this?
I'm sure there have been many questions like this, but here's another one.
My daughter has asked for a coffee table to match their dinning table and chairs. My son-in-law doesn't remember what timber it is made from, so I'm hoping that someone here may be able to tell what timber it is, from the pictures (sorry about the quality, but this is the best I can do).
Any ideas?

Hard to say from the pics but my guess is radiata pine with a stain - what's the underside look like?

Pictures are very dark so hard to tell.
Does look like a pine of some sort.
There are LOTS of bits of 'affordable' solid timber furniture that look similar to that.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Almost definitely pine, hoop or maybe radiata. I'd use hoop to make a matching piece.

Its definitely a pine of some sort, stained to darken it. I somehow doubt its radiata, not enough 'figure'.
I have a set of chairs of identical design (I recycled the original table into 2 x carvers and made a new, bigger table) the timber is Oregan.
Bit of a stretch to say its the same as mine, but thats my vote. If not I'd say Hoop Pine, then Radiata. The stain makes it a little difficult to be sure.
Your challenge will not be to use the same timber, but to match the stain, I think.Bodgy

Stained pine. Go to Fantastic furniture, they have plenty of stuff like that.

Would the legs and back of the chairs be also radiata, though? Would it be strong enough for those thin joints?
