Nope not one word of Pale in that statement.
It is how ever full of
Dan's no dummy when it comes to choosing wood, nor who he chose to buy it off would lead him astray.
Choosing dark timbers which yet have to be finished making them darker can make a room look dismal, dreary and downright old.
This young man and his young family I'd say he's after brightening up the place.

Nice looking timber Boz.
Mapleman. For someone who presumably runs I wouldn't think you're doing a very good job of it. You seem to spend more time on here running down other peoples timber or saying you have or once had better. Then tell people to move on.
Maybe it's you who should move on.

When I get home from work I'll clean up the shed and re-stack the timber with sticklers. I'll post some pictures of other boards then.

cedar colour
Let's try a colour test.
Can anyone match this colour from freshly sawn NSW cedar from cold Gloucester
This will turn dark brown on drying.

Looks like a good haul that will make some excellent pieces of furniture or other woodwork.
I have several pieces made from lighter cedar. The one I like most is a chair made by Bim Morton. (Not really designed for sitting - more like something to look at)
Look forward to some pics of your work Boz
cheers
