    Default Timber ID

The timber in the attached three photos was given to me with the only identification be "packing case" timber, so if anyone would like to offer a name for each it would be appreciated. The photos don't really do justice. In the third photo the I filled some cracks with clear epoxy filler.

I like the last red timber. Would love to get my hands on some big enough for a small table whatever timber species it is.

I showed the timbers to a bloke this arvo who's background trade was an Organ Tube Maker (Musical) and he suggested Cherry wood. An online search showed this (one of many) looks similar.

Cherry is very easily worked (at least compared to Aussie timbers) and in the US is a prized cabinet timber.

    make something nice from it
