    Default Timber ID?

Picked this up on the side of the road - formerly used for single bar seats on the side of the school oval. Any idea what it is?

Looking at the end section of the stack I'd say you have a good selection of mixed hardwood. Smell-i-vision would help.

There's definitely some in there that are much paler than the others.

    Thanks for the help.

Looks like construction Jarrah to me.

Are some of the boards really heavy?

Yes, some are heavy, some not so. I was really suprised by the variation in weight.

Jarrah isn't common over here for construction. The first looks like Sydney Blue gum, agreed, the other not sure. From the end grains I'd say a mix of blue gum, possibly grey ironbark, and the browns might be spotted gum or tallowood.

    Cheers
