Default Timber for outdoor dinning set

    Hi Guys,

I am planning to build an outdoor table and chairs for my decking and was hoping someone can help me with what wood to use and where to buy it from in Melbourne South East ??
The decking is Merbau and i was hoping to get a similar teak shade or something darker like a jarrah...

Pls help me find affordable timber

    Good Morning V

Merbau is one of the best timbers for outdoor furniture, is quite affordable, and will match with your deck.. No doubt some Melbourne based forum members will advise on sourcing.

If you want to build something special, then please go ahead, and keep us all posted. We all like that special bit of woodwork.

On the other hand, if you just want a servicable BBQ suit then have a look at the chain specials and the discounters. Often they sell Indonesian outdoor settings in kwila/merbau for the same price, or even cheaper, than we can buy the timber.

    Cheers

    Graeme

Another reasonably priced option is Nyotah. It also has a high natural oil content which is suitable for outdoor settings.
