Timber Supplier in Melbourne - Post AFT
With Australian Furniture Timbers in Port Melbourne sadly closing, I'm wondering where AFT customers (like me) are now going for their timber supplies.

Is there anywhere on the western side of Melb or Nth of the city people can suggest. Mathews is a long drive from me.Kerry Larkan

Lewis Timber in Ormond is worth a look on their web-site
Danihers Timber & Hardware in Heidelberg usually have Redgum, Jarrah and Tas Oak. Limited quantity but good quality.
If you are after recycled timber there is Australian Recycled Timber in Campbellfield, Nullabor Timbers in Altona, & Urban Salvage in Spotswood to name just three.Tom

I recently bought a pack from Brittens in Dandenong. I know it doesn't help you in the West or North. Both the product and the service from Brittens were very good.
One question is; Who bought all the AFT stock?

Hi All
Let me start by disclosing up front that I am affiliated with Nullarbor Timber
We have had a lot of feedback about the recent closure of AFT and as a result we have decided to re-introduce racked timber back into our Williamstown store to service this area of the market. We are currently in the process of re-stocking the shelves with a range of new and recycled dressed and rough sawn timbers as well as slabs.
You can find our contact details on our website, we will be actively promoting this new initiative in the coming weeks.
PM me if you have any queries
Cheers

Timber.
Hi All,
Not sure if they are still there, but a place called " Market Timbers " were in Somerville Road & Market Street, in I suppose Footscray Vic.
Had a look in White Pages, sure enough, they are still there.

Urban Salvage
Hey Gents,
Urban Salvage in Spotswood have proven to be excellent and friendly too. I've found my new supplier. Thanks everyone for the tips and for Chesand for the heads up on Urban Salvage in Spotswood.
I will definitely check out Nullarbor Timber too given I'm often at Hobsons Mens Shed so thanks too caj23.
