Timber suppliers in Adelaide
Hi Guys,
I have seen some older threads about this, but I wanted an updated opinion on suppliers in Adelaide. I have found Otto Timber, Ridgewood Timber and a few salvage places. Are there others that the wider community know about. I appreciate all the help in advance, cheers!
Stuart

Welcome to a top Forum Guys. There's Bones Timber on South Rd Edwardstown, Footersville on Regency Rd Regency Park, these places are for construction type timbers, though Bones have a broader range as far as I know. Been a long time since I was there last.

A bit hard to know what would be of interest to you without knowing what you are after but if you're in the outer south area this place might be of use:
Southern Timber and Building Supply PTY LTD
Not a huge range but has some stuff you won't get in the big box stores - a few hardwoods and some decent ply.
And in Hahndorf there is :
A1 Timbers at Bukartilla and Tineriba Gallery | Hahndorf SA — Bukartilla
- expensive but a range of local and exotic hard to get species. A lot of it is reclaimed.Cheers, Bob the labrat

Hey Stuart. Please do let us know how you go. I've found Otto to have a larger range of timbers compared to Bone. Both i've found to be pretty expensive though If it isn't too far for you, Philcox Timbers I have found to be the best. I've only dealt with them once so far but prices are good, good stock and range and Andrew, who I dealt with, was an absolute top bloke. Just off the top of my head, he stocked Tasmanian Oak, Tasmanian Blackwood, American Oak, American Maple, American Walnut, A range of pine products, some other Australia species, possibly some blackbutt but don't quote me on that. Give them a call i'm sure they will help you out.
To my knowledge they only used to deal Wholesale generally but more recently have been dealing with individual retail buyers. I purchased 50mm Tas Blackwood from him to build a Maloof Style Low back chair. Will definitely purchase more from them for my next project.
Philcox took me a while to find as they don't come up on google too easily unless you know the name.
Cheers.
