Its just good old flooded / rose gum, E' Grandis. At a certain time of the year after shedding a layer, there is fresh growth & the log has been snigged through the long grass they show this beautiful green colour.

    Default flooded gum

I was looking at a tree with similliar green trunk today, didnt look as shiny tho, but it hadnt been dragged thru the gass, Is this species forming buds now, smallish round leaves??? the tree I was looking at (from a distance) looked like it was coming into bud, I'll have a closer look tomorrow.
