Default timbers that don't affect silver

Had an enquiry today for box making timbers that don't affect silver.
Don is an artisan who makes napkin rings and other specialty silver pieces on order and wishes to make special boxes to hold them, only wishing to finish with a light coat of oil.

He says Crows Ash is used with silver but wants to play with gidgee and other timbers.

Does anyone know where information on safe timbers may be found? Are there any suggestions or have others tried and found certain timbers good/no good?
    Thanks

    Greg

Thats going to be interesting to know. If crows ash is ok then I gues Yellow Wood, Silver Ash & Bumby Ash will be OK too, all being Flindersias.

    Default timber and silver

I'm far from knowledgeable on such a subject. If any timber is well sealed with several coats of finish then the silver would not come in contact with the timber and it shouldn't have an effect on it ????? As another observation Paulownia does not contain oils only water before it is dried so it is unlikely to effect the silver. Paulownia takes stains/oils really well so obtaining a good seal is easier. It is good to work with and ideal for making small boxes.

How about referring to historical texts like "Turning & Mechanical Manipulation" Vol 1 - Ch <st1:stockticker>III</st1:stockticker> - Usefull characters of woods.
