    Spotted gum would be my other suggestion for a timber suitable for a outdoor table.

    I used macrocarpa (Monterey Cypress) for mine. Is naturally insect proof.

    Welcome Dan,
    Any Australian hardwood is fine. Grain appearance will likely determine what you choose.
    Be warned tho, your creations will be quite heavy if you go for (unnecessary) thickness.
