    Smile Tropical ash hardwood

    Tropical Ash Hardwood (Hall Sofa Table). Hi I am new to this forum and would appreciate your help. I am looking at buying a Hall Sofa Table but have no knowledge of what Tropical Ash Hardwood is and what its characteristics are? I would appreciate any help thanks. I have included some pics of the furniture I am interested in buying. Thanks Paul

    Only help I can give is to suggest you Google 'Fraxinus uhdei', and wade through that.
    Tree is native to Central America, popular park and street tree in Mexico and California. Of course it's not info about shade you are after but there may be something about the timber there.

    That's fine Paul. I'm learning more myself.
    There is a little about the timber in this paper, last para. on page 2.
    BTW, I like the chunky rustic look of the piece in the photos.

    Thanks again. I have a lot to learn myself. I went ahead with the purchase because I love the chunky look as well and this seems a beautifiul piece of furniture. The article was interesting but nobody seems to know much about this wood. Hope it lasts as long as most of the other hardwoods. Thanks!
