    Default what type of sawn timber is this?

    I know this timber is oak but what type of cut would it be?

    There are several oaks in America. I know of white oak and red oak and i guess these
    ar so named because of the colour of the cut timber.

    If those chairs have not been stained I would suggest red oak. That however, is more a guess
    than anything based on personal knowledge.
