Value of Red Cedar ?
I have half a pack of red cedar boards 150 x 25 and a couple of wider and thicker boards. Just wondering what red cedar is worth these days ? Any body have any idea ?

Prices vary depending on quality and size. Between $4k and $6k per m3 would be pretty much the going rate. Exceptional stuff can go for $9k. The highest price I have seen paid at auction in recent years was $10k but that was for some beautiful flame grain slabs 1.4m wide 3m long and 50mm thick.
There is some ARC for sale on the forum at the moment with an asking price of around $10k/m3. See how that goes.

auction pricing
At Boutique Timbers recent auction, Aust. red cedar went for prices from $1000/ cubic metre to $3000 for good dark old boards, so I guess it really depends like everything else, quality, what a customer is prepared to pay and what a seller is prepared to sell for.
The photos shows good boards and should fetch you around $7/suoer foot

Thanks for the feedback Greg. These boards are a bit light in colour really. I think they come from a fair way north and from youngish trees. Anyway I've put them on Ebay and its goodbye to ever making that pair of matched red cedar drawers. My wife says just go out and buy a set but I've been looking for twenty years and not found the right one yet.
