WA Lace Sheoak
Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen
Please find attached some good WA Lace Sheoak recently milled by Derek Doak of Naval Base WA.
I don't have any in my timber selection, but fortunately, Derek gave me some. I have cut them into pen blanks and slowly drying in them in my kiln (okay, I don't have a kiln but they are on the floor in front of the wood fire drying?
It is alleged that Lace Sheoak occurs in 1 in a 100 trees. Not sure what causes it, but it surely excites us wood turners when we see some.
Cheers
Willy

Reminds me of a beautifully marbled piece of beef.

My favourite too. The first ever proper turning I did was a small Sheoak bowl and ever since its been a special bit of timber to me. Thanks for sharing!
