What is this wood type?
Gentlemen and ladies, can you identify this wood species? I'm told it's Japanese.
My son has to do a 3d image of a box made of this type of timber.
I have attached an image to assist in your suggestions,

my first guess is Japanese cedar or Port Orford Cedar.
These being two common softwoods used in Japan.regards from Alberta, Canada
