Want a new $250 12" Triton Bandsaw?
No joke! Check the post here for details.
I have no association, and if I didn't already have one, I'd be bloody tempted. Still am!"Clear, Ease Springs"

Stuart, you are a champ!!!!
I have just ordered mine.
If I have as much fun with this as I have had with the Triton Steel Cutter that I bought after reading your post about such some months ago, I will be in heaven. I have been thinking about a band saw for yonks but just could not justify the cost to myself for my little bit of pottering around with tools and wood. It was the same with the steel cutter but after I bought one at the low price for which they were available a few months ago, I seem to use it every week.
This is an awesome deal, which I consummated immediately after watching your video on the product.
Many thanks for letting us know about these specials. You are a good man.

Price now corrected $717.27 + GST
Hold the phone, and save your call costs.
The price has just been corrected on the website.

Surprised it took so long - seeing as someone on my blog had previously purchased one at that price, so it had stayed at that price for about 8 days even though people had bought one.
So that's why I flagged it as being a real deal - a number had rung and confirmed the price, then purchased."Clear, Ease Springs"

Ah! What a danger internet selling is.
For a contract to be legally binding, it must have three elements
1. An offer and acceptance
2. Consideration
3. An intention to establish legal relations.
In this case
(a) the offer has been made via the internet and accepted via the internet.
(b) consideration has been made, viz the payment by credit card.
(c) the intention to establish legal relations has been established by the email and webform documentation made after the sale as demonstrated by the email taht I received confirming the sale and the associated webform shown below ...

It looks to me as though anyone who has ordered and paid for one of these before the website was changed has won themselves a very cheap machine.
BTW, this is what the price on the website looked like originally ...

Another screenshot (of the top of the page) is on my blog as well fwiw.
Interestingly, they have also increased the price of the 8" bandsaw by $50 (it was $400 earlier today) Talk about inflation!"Clear, Ease Springs"

When I called about it and asked about the freight costs, they said the flat rate shipping on the website wouldn't apply, as $15 to ship to QLD for something of this weight/size wasn't correct. They do state on their checkout that if the shipping costs exceeds the flat rate they will contact you.
I'd gone all the way through to checkout to put the credit card in and then decided to call about the freight because it looked too cheap, to be freighted to Brisbane.
When I asked then they said they would have to get back to me with an accurate shipping cost.
Two things could happen, they'll honour the orders, though their terms and conditions of sale I just read may give them a chance to step out of the sale.
If they do honour the sales, I'l be kicking myself I didn't complete the checkout first then check on the freight later.
or shipping may get a lot more expensive, they do state in the checkout that if shipping costs exceed the flat rate quoted they will contact the purchaser.
Either way, I'm back to still wanting a bandsaw.

If shipping does become prohibitive, then the answer would be to arrange your own shipping ex their shop.

More financial ouch for Triton.
Seems the pricing was a typo from Triton.
Got the phone call back about freight, and was informed that the original price was a mistake from the supplier. So, as a result of me checking the freight costs and not ordering first, then I've lost the cheaper price.
VEK just advised me that Triton is covering the loss to VEK, in order to honour the orders already placed.
Seems that all those that placed orders online will be honoured, with Triton losing out.
And when I asked did many orders go through at that price, the reponse from the sales person was about 12 months worth of sales in one day.
Ouch!

OUCH! That's a typo!
At least Triton is doing the right thing by VEK and their customers. Its a pity that its happening (with the existing rumours and such), but this is what companies have to watch out for.
In any case, the $250 bandsaw will be a welcome addition in my shed!
Cheers,
Nathan.

Seems a shame that VEK didn't pay attention then to what they were doing then - didn't anyone think while they were transferring the info that it seems strange that the 12" was cheaper than the 8"? Let alone that a 12" was so cheap?
