Default New/old bevel ripping guide - difference?

Going by the parts guide on Triton's website, at some point they began issuing a "new" version of the BRA200 (the bevel ripping guide).

Anyone know what the difference is? I may have an opportunity to buy an "old" BRA200 second hand but I don't want to if there were useful improvements made when they issued the "new" version.

    Default old bevel rip guide

dont hold me to it but i think the older version of the bra 200 ripping guide was made for the MK3 table and the new one is made for the 2000 series
in the past i would have sugested you contact triton and ask. however i have found that in some occasions the person on the other end hasn't got a clue about any trition gear, so it would be pot luck to beable to speak with some one on the other end of the line that knows.

    regards

Thanks, but no, the MK3 table had its very own bevel ripping guide. There are two models (old and new) both for the WC2000.

I thought you guys would have an answer to me on this one in seconds! Must've asked a hard one.

Ah! just seven posts and the cr@p is dribbling
    Try giving some help yourself

The work panel (fence) was aluminium on the original and steel on the later model.

Growing old is much better than the alternative!

Two of the major differences is that the side rails on the 'new' BRA200...fold in for storage - and the old ones were fixed. Also a big improvment was that the back (or the main panel) was beefed up a little to reduce the flex caused by weighty bits 'o' wood (anybody seen the Triton Training Vid or DVD - George has to clamp a piece of wood behind the guide to support the base). The old guide did not have the deep channel running down the middle (deep channel - stonger back) and the bottom aluminium guides attached in a different way to the current model.

The BRA200 was not around in the MK3 days - it was a BRA001 back then - and was drastically different in looks to the current model, due to the somewhat simplistic design for the fence attachment of the MK3s (bolts thru deck - rather then rails on side). It (the BRA001) had large sliding angle brackets to pivot on and set the angles (which were bolted thru the edges of the Table top) - and a very pronounced 90 degree return for the timber to slide on (some would say maybe a better design).

    ps..
I thought those trusty D**********s would have answered this one in a flash...things slipping a little in GMC land !

Well thanks very much for your replies. The 2nd hand Ripping Guide I was interested in was on ebay. Have a look here.

    I didn't even bid.

Anyone able to do so should feel free to attempt to explain to me why you would bid $81 (with postage on top of that of at least $15) for a slightly outdated model of an item that only costs $95 brand spankin' new.

As Obelix would say [tap yourself on the head with your forefinger as you read this]: "[Tock, tock, tock] These ebayers are crazy!"
