Bunnings clearencing triton steel cutter
just thought id let you know if anyone is interested.
Triton Steel Cutter is now under clearance for bunnings.
Originally it was $389 but dropped down to $199 then a further 10% off I got it for $179.
The lady at bunnings told me that the cutter did not meet the minimum quota so they are clearencing them, so it should be at other stores also.
Got one to cut aluminium angle easier + it would come in handy with my next project.

oh my hatred for GMC products.
I am never going to buy anything GMC again. Bad cuttoff saw, bad jigsaw anything requiring precision they are no good at.
I was actually surprised at how much better a tungsten cutting disk cuts. goes throu alu like butter.
BTW looked on ebay and couldnt find it? or has it finished.
Just looking on ebay for blades also. what type am I spose to get for cutting steel?

Blu^ray.
If you are looking for spare blades for Steelcutter, I would suggest that you,
a, contact toys4theboys_online via ebay and enquire about original blades, or
b, google 'rotary hack saw' or Australian Saw Company. They make the rotary hack saw in sizes from 4in for angle grinder upwards to cover the range of circular saws.
They are in Airport West area of Melb but would have reps throughout Oz.
You will see that the blade shape and rake etc are very different from the one you linked to, which is basically an aggressive timber rip saw.

Irwin make suitable steel cutting blades - as do some others (including Triton still) - and they are widely available although $110 or so for the 7 1/4". As others have said - you MUST use a properly designed steel cutting blade as using others would be extremely dangerous as well as possibly damaging to the saw.
Blu^ray's price is now competitive - see http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Triton-Steel-...QQcmdZViewItem
I am glad I got mine for $152 delivered with a second Triton blade - works a treat.

Oh well I seem to always miss the ones on ebay but still I got it for $179 at my local.
Lucky I didnt buy one at $389 :O
Just looking for cheap alternates for the blade so I have one spare. I dont use the current one very much probbaly 10 cuts a day.
$50 a blade would be nice as bunnings said they can order in a original replacement for around $100.
How do I buy from carbitool? I dont have a local outlet here. and their website doesnt look like you can buy online.
BTW thanks everyone for your help
