Bunnings Trition Workcenter 2000
Howdy,
I'm in the market for the Triton Workcentre 2000 and went to a Bunnings to look at it. There price was $499.
I had some questions for the Staff member which he could not answer, so I wasn't happpy and walked out without purchasing. This was yesterday.
Today I done some looking around at prices and located a company in Sydney that sells the Triton Workcentre 2000 for $462 (Sydney Tools)
So I printed out the page and took to Bunnings thinking I might get a nice deal on my new Workcentre.
Had to speak to a Manager at Bunnings and first he said oh we don't price match from some companies this is in our fine print. He then looked at my print out and said ohh yer Sydney Tools we don't match with them.
So pretty much he said go n buy it elsewhere I don't really care.
So what does this say for there Price Guarantee. If a stocked item is more expensive we'll beat their price by 10%!!!
Any excuse to get out of a SALE!!! I'll be going back tomorrow and demand to see the fine print.

Mate
Yesterday I went into Bunnings Blacktown and asked them to price match the height winder and retractable wheels on 2 separate quotes from Victorian companies. They matched them and reduced both by 10%. Now I know these items are cheaper, but perhaps try a different Bunnings, as I have found them to be inconsistent in their approach to price matching.
Hope this helps.

Bunning - I still have faith
Howdy All,
So this morning I rolled down to Artarmon Bunnings again, very unhappy about what happened yesterday. I done all my research and they HAVE TO price match.
The stories the Manager gave me yesterday were complete bull.
So I rolled into the store with my print out from Sydney Tools for the Workcentre 2000 @ $462.
Spoke to the fella's at the Refunds Counter, they looked at the paper work, called up the stores and basically long story short, I walked out of Bunnings with my Brand New Triton Workcentre 2000 for about $412... haha gotta love that huh....

Well they price matched for me on the rta300 and tra001 at Booval in Qld from a printout of the just tools website (Victoria) pages and beat both by 10% even though the difference was less than postage would be, so yeah complete BS. Good you got it in the end.

Good to see that you got the price match... pity it took more work on your behalf though. Would have loved to hear you got the other manager to back down and give it to you. Welcome to the triton club too.
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Actually, Bunnings probably shouldn't have price matched your Workcentre.
Reason being that Bunnings sell the 2000EV (Extra Value kit) which comes with the height winder and wheels. Most other places selling the 2000 for cheaper sell just that, the 2000. Bunnings should only price match on the exact same item.
So if the other place was selling a 2000EV then you are absolutely right to push the point. If they were only selling a 2000, then well done, you've managed to get something for nothing.
Regarding the Big B not matching with certain other places, that is not really true - Bunnings will match any advertised (and in stock) price as long as it isn't a trade-only price. Essentially if anyone can ring up and get a price and availability over the phone, Bunnings should match it.

Dusty Dave,
Your are quite correct, I've just been doing a little research on this and have found out the following:
Bunnings Sell the Trition Workcentre 2000 kit included with the following accessories for a price of $499
1. Blade Height Winder ($45)
2. Triton Retractable Wheel Kit ($25)
Sydney Tools sell the Trition Workcentre 2000 for $462 but does not include the $45 blade height winder or the $25 wheel kit.
So yer I really got a good deal out of Bunnings at the end of the day.

I tyhink the 2000EV is exclusive to Bunnings for that very reason, so that they don;t have to price match it.

Last week I rolled in to Bunnings in Sydney's southwest (don't really want to mention which store), intending to buy the Triton 2000. They had the 2000 but also the EV 2000. I asked the woman at the tool shop checkout what the difference was and she told me that the EV comes with the wheels and the height winder.
But.....I opted for the 2000 and she made a mistake when she scanned the items and long story short, I ended up paying $115! So I felt as if I had more money to spend and ended up buying the DCA300 dust bucket, the Triton 235 mm saw, a Ryobi belt sander and a dovelling kit as well. Paid $642 for the lot, I was pretty happy with that, it doesn't happen to me very often that I get a good deal.

I've since been trying to get a DCA 250 dust bag. Been to Casula and Bonnyrigg, called Villawood and Bankstown and today I dropped in to Belrose. No one stocks them and they don't seem all that interested in ordering them in either.
Might end up buying on line from http://www.justtools.com.au/index.htm
Went past the Bunnings Hoxton Park one tonight, it looks like they'll be open in a couple of weeks from now.
