Forum Site Map - Thread Directory outline

Hi as I am new here I am finding it difficult to jump around the forum. Is it possible to create a sticky thread that lists the forum site maps? Parent to child.. I would be pleased in assisting with this task. But I am still trying to work my way around the workshop so to speak.

Maybe a side bar index is the go. Thanks in advance

The home page has all the relevant Categories with all the Sub-Forums listed under each one.

You should be able to access all of the forum from there.

Thanks, I looked at that. It was a bit messy. I would prefer a sticky at the top of each parent thread showing the child threads. Better still a dynamic sidebar collapsible index tree with a tool tip like summary text that shows when the cursor is placed over the link.

I am not familar with this forum's engine but this sort of widget is common. The short term solution would be a parent thread "Sticky" index. My main interest at this stage is Triton Tools. They need our help right now. A good product that should not have been bought out by GMC.

there is the search function.

an advanced search

and there is always google with site:woodworkforums.com prefixing your search request.

If you go into the user control panel and increase the number of threads per page that might give you a better view of what is going on.

I think your missing the point of what i am trying to say. Yes of course I can use those options as hit and miss they can be. A site map is relatively simple to install.

Have you looked at the advanced search?

click on the link called search and then click advanced search.

It has the layout of the forums and the ability to search in a forum and also it's children.

Peoples thoughts, comments and questions do not happen in an orderly fashion so we can never get any predictable content structure.
We all have to pinpoint our desired information with an intelligent search.

Its just a quick way of seeing how the forum is structured.

About a year or so back, IIRC, Tabs were tried on the Home page, and found wanting. From the Home page, each user can open his/her own selections of sub-forums in a New Page, for sort of a three-dimensional format. There's probably a way to "remember" the selections, but ...
