    Default GMC Dowel Drilling Machine

I have a GMC Dowel Drilling Machine DWL 850 model No Q02252 with a problem in purchasing new drill bits for the unit.
The bit size are for 3/8 inch dowels (9.5 diam) with a 8mm diam shank that fits into the chuck, the length of the bits are 58mm overall length. The shanks have a flat ground on side which allows the grub screws that firmly fasten the drill into the chuck. There is 2 bits to the machine drilling 2 holes simultaneous.
The bits are brad pointed. The quality of the original bits is a bit dubious particular in drilling into hard wood.
My query is does any one by any chance have any idea where one could purchase new bits for this type of machine.
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Malcolm Eaton

I would try Carbitool. They may have supplied them as they originally supplied Triton ( at lest when Triton was owned by George, before the bean counters got at it) with all their bits.

If they don't have it I'm sure they can give you a quote to make them.

Got mine from Carbatec...they are an off the shelf type item, although they only had one when I went to get mine...

Make sure you ask for the right direction of rotation, as there are LH and RH versions....

Don't ask me how I know this...

If it's the same as the Triton unit, try a Triton reseller eg. Timberbits. Part number is TDJDB followed by the size eg. 8 for 8mm.

They are available from toolsparesonline in the UK but they are pricey.
