Mk3 L-shaped locking keys (looking for them!)
Hi folks
Am newly registered in this forum, and am looking for Triton Workcentre Mk3 "L" locking pins.
Does anyone know how easy/costly they are to find?
Cheers,
Andrei

From what I've seen on this forum they aren't particularly common and tend to be fairly dear unless a forumite is donating them.
I've had an idea though; it may be possible to make them from cheap Chinese screwdrivers; the ones with the yellow resin handles. If my hypothesis is correct you would just need to find a screwdriver with the same sized shank as the diameter of the pin; then beat the snot out of the handle until the resin falls off. You might need a bit of heat to bend the shank and perhaps a bit of filing to bring the pressed "wings" to the exact shape. Garage sales, markets and tip shops should throw up a multitude of donors, maybe even $2 shops?
The tooling required to stamp out the wings on the pins and the wings on a screwdriver are the same, and I would be rather surprised if the pins weren't made from a common shank size thus allowing existing machine tooling to be used.

I've spent the morning getting on with it and have (for now) taped two pieces of thin plywood as a little chock. Not ideal but keeps it all in place. There's one (L key) available on ebay from Victoria, hut i need to get moving on a little project now.
Can't seem to be able to attach pic (from Android phone) of my qyick fix. Will do that later

I tried the screwdriver route and posted the result in a previous post. You need to find an old screwdriver - modern chrome vanadium (even from the $1 shop) just snaps when you try to bend it - although i didn't heat it.
There is a supplier online, but he charges $30 each for a 3D printed version.

Adam Tools, who sell second hand Triton parts, have them. They are in OZ.
